One Visit Crowns (Cerec)
What Is a Cerec Crown?
With this program, we create a computerized image of a patient’s tooth and fully map the inside of the mouth so that we can design a perfect crown with very little time investment required.
Rather than having to send impressions and images to a lab and waiting for the completed product, our team builds perfect CEREC crowns from solid ceramic in less than two hours. From there, Dr. Tim and Dr. Ketchem fit and attach the crown to the patient’s existing tooth, and the process is completed in just one visit.
For one, patients having impressions taken for CEREC crowns do not have to deal with dental putty in their mouths, as CEREC impressions are taken with a 3D wand that takes detailed photos of the patient’s mouth.
Additionally, patients receiving CEREC implants do not have to wear an inconvenient temporary crown while they wait for a dental lab to create their new tooth. The longest wait time between having impressions done and having a new tooth installed is only a couple of hours, which negates the need for a temporary replacement.
Understandably, most patients do not want to deal with having a broken tooth any longer than necessary, and waiting two to three weeks for a traditional crown to be fitted can be an unpleasant experience.
Because of this, Herre Holistic Dental KC offers a faster, more convenient option compared to the process of installing traditional crowns.
Unlike the standard method of crowning teeth, CEREC crowns allow our patients to walk into our office needing a crown and leave with a brand-new, natural-looking crown in a single visit.
At Herre Holistic Dental KC, we create high-quality crowns that are no different in durability standards than a standard crown. Our patients can rest assured that our CEREC crowns are as durable as they are convenient. They’re simply made and installed faster, thanks to the advancement of CAD technology.
- Dr. Herre will prepare the individual’s tooth to receive a crown.
- A high-quality camera is used to photograph the inside of the patient’s mouth.
- The images are then fed into the CEREC system’s software to create a highly accurate map of the patient’s tooth and mouth.
- The model of the new tooth is then mapped onto a piece of ceramic, which is then filed and carved to match the exact details of the patient’s existing tooth.
- Once the crown has been prepared, Dr. Herre then fits and installs the crown.
- The patient then gets to leave the office with a new crown that matches the exact size, shape, and color of their natural teeth. The new crown is indistinguishable from the rest of the individual’s teeth.
